Basketball

Basketball is played year-round now and there are so many leagues and tournaments around the area that if you work as a basketball official, you can work almost every day.

For Call the Game, basketball is by far the largest sport we assign. We assign varsity and sub-varsity for many of the major high school conferences in the area, as well as assign middle school.

You must be registered with the National Federation in the state you live in order to work this sport.

Rookie and inexperienced officials are required to attend a class on rules and mechanics, court management and then spend time on the court with a clinician. These classes and court time occur in September and October every year to prepare the official for the upcoming winter season.

We also host several camps each year and participate in KSHSAA sanctioned camps. In 2018, the following camps are scheduled.

  • Call The Game camps: June 8-10 and July 22-25.

  • KSHSAA camps: Hays, KS June 2-3. KU campus June 15-17.
